Haiti and New Orleans are vibrant places formed by French, West African, and other cultures. I try to capture their common heritage through my photography. I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised on Africa Plantation, about 45 minutes northwest of New Orleans, on the west bank of the Mississippi River, in the small town of Modest. For me, Africa Plantation is a spiritual place that inspires my life work starting in South Louisiana.
